About Abhishek

Abhishek is a lively, sporty and active 19 year old living in a village near Dandeli, North Karnataka, with an extremely loving and supportive family. As a single child, he is exceptionally adored by his mother and father. Much like all energetic young teens, he thrives on playing sports like football and kabbadi. When he is not exerting too much physical energy, he enjoys being in the company of close friends, sharing a few laughs with an infectious demeanor. In addition, Abhishek is academically inclined and devotes concentrated time to his studies. He is studying PUC at ITI and is keen on resuming his studies. He comes from an impoverished background, consequently making it strenuous for his parents to finance his medical treatment. His father is a farmer who works as a laborer and his mother is a house wife. As an only child Abhishek bears the responsibility of taking care of his family in the future.

The journey over the last few months hasn’t been easy on the parents either, as they witness their daughter close of from the world. They have been a pillar of support day-in and day-out for Iqra and are doing everything in their power to make sure she gets better.

Medical Details

About 3 months ago, Abhishek complained of intense pain in his legs. He found it tremendously burdensome to walk. Gravely concerned, his parents transported him to a general physician who practiced medicine in the same village. After a series of grueling tests, the family received the devastating news that Abhishek is suffering from right leg spinal tumor, a complicated form of bone cancer. Despite being burdened by the weight of this traumatic news, his parents took immediate action and admitted him into a government hospital situated in Dandeli.

With a dejected heart, Abhishek embarked on the first step of a journey of painful treatment. Unfortunately, his health condition showed no improvement with the current treatment leaving his family and him in low in spirits. Following the unsuccessful treatment, his physician referred him to Dr. Pramod Chinder at HCG KR Hospital where he was admitted in September 2022. Upon observing Abhishek’s condition, Dr. Pramod performed immediate Limb Salvage Surgery

Financial Details

The cost of Limb Salvage Surgery is INR 6 lacs. Determined to restore Abhishek’s poor health, his parents promptly sold the land they owned to pay for the surgery. Helpless, without any financial resources and the sheer extremity of the cost of chemotherapy has led Abhishek’s parents to seek further financial assistance.
