About Sonu

Sonu is 10-years old staying with his family, his parents and a younger brother in Giridih, Jharkhand. His father Adhir Kumar is an auto-driver and earns a meagre INR 5000/- a month and his mother Gita Devi is a home maker.

Sonu is currently studying in 1st Std in a private school near his home. He is very active and loves learning about new topics each day. After getting back home from school, Sonu enjoys watching TV and playing games with his younger brother.

Medical Details

In September 2020, Sonu’s jaw began swelling up. Concerned about this development his parents took him to a government hospital where they informed his parents that the swelling might be due to the growth of a new tooth. A month later the size of the lump had significantly increased. Sonu’s father then took him to consult a doctor at a private hospital, the doctor confirmed that the swelling was a tumor and it needed to be treated immediately and referred them to HCG Abdul Razzaque Ansari Cancer Hospital at Ranchi.

At HCG Abdul Razzaque Ansari Cancer Hospital, post a check up and going through Sonu’s recent blood reports and CT scan reports, the family was informed about the line of treatment. On 2nd November 2020, Sonu underwent a surgery to remove the tumor. 

He has completed his surgery and is recovering from his diagnosis.

Financial Details

The family has spent close to 2-lakhs until now for his surgery and treatment. They were able to do so by selling their cow, their motorbike, the family land and borrowing money from their house owner.

All of their resources have been exhausted and they are in need of your help to arrange money for Sonu’s supportive care and further treatment.

About Mohammed Saleem

Mohammed Saleem is 33-years old, married to Shazia Kousar and is the father of three children; two daughters and a son. The family stays in a rented house near Guddadahalli, Bengaluru. He works as a mechanic at a garage and when at home spends most of his time with his children.

Medical Details

In 2018, Saleem would experience frequent headaches, for which the reason was unknown. After consulting a doctor and based on his suggestion, he underwent a MRI – scan at a diagnostic centre near his house. Post which the family approached a doctor with the scan reports at Apollo Hospital, wherein the doctor confirmed that Saleem was suffering from a brain-tumour. He needed to undergo a surgery in order to remove the tumour, the question was “How would this be done?”. A family doctor suggested that treatment could be done at HCG Hospital.

At HCG Hospital, post the MRI – scan and going through the report; Dr.Sridhar suggested that he undergo CyberKnife Radiation Therapy. In 2019, he underwent CyberKnife and was on his follow-up consultations. After a while Saleem began experiencing severe headaches and blurred vision, this made the family consult the doctor once again. In 2020, he underwent another MRI – Scan and after getting the report had to undergo a Biopsy.

He is yet to undergo CyberKnife Radiation Therapy. Based on the test results, he will be undergoing treatment.

 

Financial Details

The family has already spent 5-Lakhs until now for his treatment, by taking a loan and getting help from relatives. They have exhausted all their savings and are in need of financial support for the remaining part of his treatment.

Saleem requires financial aid of 8-Lakhs for CyberKnife radiation therapy and supportive care.
