About Pankaj

Pankaj is a 4-year old boy, staying with his parents in a rented house in Bidar District, Gulbarga. His father Mr.Rajashekar works in a plastic sag-bag manufacturing factory and earns approximately INR 18,000/- a month, while his mother is a home maker.

Pankaj has an elder brother Prajwal who is studying in 2^nd STD, whereas Pankaj is yet to join UKG. He is a very active kid and loves spending time playing with his elder brother.

Medical Details

It started in March 2020, where he started having a few episodes of vomiting. The family took him for a consultation session with a general pediatrician in Gulbarga. After undergoing a chest-scan and blood test, he was put under medication; unfortunately this did not give him any relief.

In April 2020, Pankaj began losing his sense of balance while walking. He underwent an MRI-Scan of his brain and a blood test, after going through the report the Doctor asked the family to consult with a neurologist, as there was a tumor present in his brain and it needed to be operated on. The family took him to Shankar hospital in Sholapur for his surgery, after the biopsy report; they confirmed that he is suffering from Posterior Fossa Meningioma – Grade II.

The family was referred to HCG Gulbarga, where the Doctor went through the reports and Pankaj underwent a 2^nd biopsy. Post getting the reports, the line of treatment as radiation was confirmed. He underwent 27-fractions and is yet to undergo 3-fractions. After completing radiation, he will be on his regular follow-up consultations.

About Piyush

Piyush, is a 9-year old boy staying with his family in a rented house in Peenya, Bengaluru. His father, Mr.Suresh works in a provision store and is the sole earning member of the family; while his mother Mrs.Rekha is a house wife.

He is studying in 4^th Std and his elder brother Rohit is studying in 6^th Std at Arvind International School. Piyush is very smart when it comes to his studies and is also quite talented in drawing too.

Medical Details

It all started on 24^th December, 2016 when his neck started swelling up and he complained of dizziness. Concerned about this development his father took him to Manasa Hospital, Vijaynagar; where they got a blood test done. After going through the report, the doctor referred them to KIDWAI. Here, after undergoing another blood test and upon getting the results, they were informed that Piyush has T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL).

His family then took him to HCG MSR, as he had a high-fever; he was admitted to an ICU under the supervision of Dr.Rashmi. She went through his reports and then put together his treatment plan, which was also shared with the family. Piyush underwent a total of 6-cycles of chemotherapy and completed his treatment in August 2017. He was under maintenance chemotherapy for 3-years. In August of 2020, his medication was stopped and he was on his regular follow-ups. In the month of November 2020, his right testis had swollen up – he underwent a biopsy on 12^th November 2020 and it was confirmed that, there was a relapse of T-ALL. He underwent surgery on his right testis and began his chemotherapy on 1^st December 2020.

He has to undergo a total of 6-cycles of chemotherapy and radiation on his right testis.

Financial Details

The family have spent a total of 16-Lakhs until now for his treatment. They received donations from super minutes channel and support from their relatives.

The approximate cost for his further treatment of chemotherapy is 10-Lakhs, he has to undergo radiation and BMT which will approximately cost 28-Lakhs.

About Abhinav

Abhinav is 10-years old, staying with his family in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. His father Mr. Arumugam works as a mason and his mother Mrs. Savitha is a housewife. He has an elder brother who is studying B.E 2nd year and Abhinav is studying in 4th Std.

He is quite active when it comes to his studies and he is very energetic when it comes to playing Basketball and attends coaching classes on a regular basis to improve his skills.

Medical Details

In February 2020, Abhinav got into an altercation, which resulted in him being hit by a skate-board and he ended up with a hairline fracture in his left leg. After getting treated at a local clinic, the pain persisted over the next few weeks. Little did they know, that they were in for a shock of their lifetime.

The family approached an Orthopaedic, where he underwent an MRI- Scan bringing to light that the pain was caused because of a different reason. They were referred to consult with Dr. Pramod at HCG Hospital, where he underwent a biopsy and PET-CT Scan; post receiving the report he was diagnosed with ‘Osteosarcoma’. Abhinav underwent surgery to remove the tumor and to control the growth of cancer cells, was suggested to 6-cycles of chemotherapy.

Update

Abhinav, has been shifted to another Hospital, where he will undergo his treatment.

About Nanditha

Nanditha is 26-years old staying with her husband Mr. Narsaiya in KG Halli, Bengaluru. Her husband works as an office boy at a textile shop and earns a mere INR10,000/- a month. Nanditha, on the other hand has completed her 2nd PUC and is a house-wife. She spends most of her time indulging in learning embroidery and making new designs on clothes.

Medical Details

It all started in 2014, she began experiencing severe pain in her right ankle, which over the next few days began swelling up. Concerned about this development, the family consulted an Orthopaedic and she underwent a round of X-Ray. Upon checking the report, the doctor informed her that she was suffering from Lymph node metastasis lung cancer; for which she underwent a tumor extraction surgery.

On May 2020, she started facing the same issue, despite having a second successful surgery in 2015 at Hosmat hospital. The family approached HCG Hospital, where they consulted with Dr. Pramod. She went through the process of getting a MRI Scan, PET-CT Scan and X-Ray. On receiving the reports, she underwent a tumor extraction surgery on 1st Feb 2021. Post which she has been advised to take Injections; twice a day for 5-days to stop the regrowth of the tumor.

Update

She has completed her surgery and is recovering from her surgical wound. She is currently able to walk with the assistance of a walker.
