About Harsha
Harsha, is a 7-year old child who is part of a joint-family staying in Ramamurthy Nagar, Bengaluru. His father Mr.Ravindra is an agriculturist and his mother Mrs.Lavanya is a house wife, the family stays in a rented house. Harsha, is the eldest child amongst his two younger sisters and a younger brother.
He is currently studying in 1st STD at Narayana School and is very good when it comes to academics. In his free time he loves playing games with his siblings and cousins.
Medical Details
In 2020 November, Harsha developed a fever for which his family took him to a clinic. He was prescribed general antibiotics by the Doctor. However, after a couple of weeks he began throwing-up. A concerned family then took him to consult a Doctor at Shishuka Pediatric Hospital, where he underwent a CT-Scan and X-Ray. The report revealed that there was a secretion of liquid in his lungs and this needed to be removed.
After a few days he began experiencing breathing problems and the family ended up visiting various hospitals to understand what was happening. It was at Manipal Hospital, after going through a CT –Scan that the Doctor informed them that there was the presence of Lymph Nodes, which was causing the secretion of liquid in his lungs and creating difficulty in breathing. Upon the suggestion of a relative, the family then consulted with Dr.Intezar Mehndi in January 2021. At HCG Hospital, Harsha underwent a Biopsy, CT-Scan and X-Ray post which he was diagnosed with ‘Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia’ (ALL). The family was informed about the line of treatment, being 4-cycles of chemotherapy.
Harsha, has finished his 3rd-cycle of induction chemotherapy and further treatment is yet to be decided.
Financial Details
So far the family has spent close to 22-Lakhs, by digging into their savings, mortgaging their jewels and taking money on loan. They have exhausted all their resources and are currently requesting HCG Foundation for support.
Required Aid
Harsha, requires financial aid of approximately 15-Lakhs for his entire treatment, which includes his maintenance chemotherapy and supportive care.
