Medical Details
In October 2018, Arpith noticed a small lump near his right knee. The family consulted an orthopaedic near their home, post the tests the X-Ray showed the presence of a small tumour in his knee. The doctor further advised the family to get a CT scan and Blood test done for him. This was the final confirmation on the presence of a tumour and the method of treatment was explained to the family.
Since the family could not afford the cost of treatment, they got Arpith treated for 3-months by an Ayurvedic doctor. However, the treatment had only alleviated the pain and the size of the tumour. Concerned, the family took him in for a second consultation and a scan with an orthopaedic in Mangalore and the results revealed that the tumour had become malignant.
Moving ahead the family was referred to HCG Hospital, Bengaluru; where they consulted Dr.Pramod. After getting the biopsy report Arpith had to undergo 4-cycles of chemotherapy to remove and dissolve any lasting traces of the tumour making sure it does not recur.
